If you are asking what is the best way to lose weight, then you may or may not know that the glycemic index has been used by people with diabetes and insulin resistance to monitor their calorie, carbohydrate and protein intake for years......but did you also know that research has shown it is the "better weight management plan" and can be the easiest way to lose weight for anyone who wants to learn how to lose weight and keep it off?
Just listen to Dr. Cyril Kendall of the University of Toronto talk about the largest clinical trial of Low Glycemic Index Diet, and make sure you listen to the last 17 seconds (of the 77 seconds video).:
Largest Trial of Low Glycemic Index Diet
Whether you just need to lose a few pounds or quite a bit … whether you have had some success
dieting before or you have failed miserably on every diet you have ever tried ….....
following the
low glycemic index diet can help you lose weight … and keep it off!

What Exactly is the Glycemic Index?

Dr. David Jenkins of the University of Toronto, credited with developing the concept of the glycemic index, talks about the glycemic index (remember it was initially nothing to do with weight loss!):
Dr. David Jenkins on the Glycemic Index
The glycemic index, also known as GI, generally ranks carbohydrates on a scale from 1 to 100 according
to their effect
 on blood sugar levels.
Glycemic Index Ranking
High
70 and greater
Medium
56 to 69
Low
55 and less

Foods with a high GI score are those that are rapidly digested and absorbed and that results in
marked fluctuations in blood sugar levels.
Low-GI foods, which are more slowly digested and absorbed by the body, produce gradual rises in
blood sugar and insulin levels, and have proven benefits for health.
In fact, numerous studies have shown that eating low GI foods is the secret to reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes … and is the key to sustainable weight loss!
